CKD Stage 3B - reversing kidney markers and regaining muscle strength

What changed

  • Creatinine ↓
  • PTH and phosphorus normalised
  • Muscle mass ↑
The presentationPresented at HolistiCon 2025

A middle-aged man diagnosed in 2019, presenting with high creatinine, urine glucose, blood traces and critically low muscle mass at 39.7%.

Would you have looked past the creatinine?

What happened

How the case unfolded.

The deeper assessment found emotional stress from his wife's cancer journey, low protein intake, possible hormonal imbalance and a medication mismatch. With a root-cause approach his kidney markers, PTH, phosphorus and strength improved significantly within months.

Clinical lens

What this case asks you to hold at once.

  • Renal markers
  • Protein intake
  • Emotional load
  • Muscle mass

A case like this is rarely resolved by the most obvious intervention. HNTP learners work through the presentation, the wider context and the reasoning behind each decision - then follow what actually happened.

  4. 04

    Refine

Return to practice with clearer thinking and better questions.

Case notes

Case discussions are educational in nature. Individual results vary, and holistic lifestyle interventions support - but do not replace - appropriate medical evaluation, treatment and professional judgement.
